This is an amazing micro-carving using the tiniest hand tools with the assistance of a microscope. No rotary tools involved! Julien Feller is a master of micro-carving, mimicking Belgium lace–but his own designs. These delicate carvings are created using boxwood. The oak leaf has delicate natural components, butterflies and botanicals found in the Adirondacks with gold leaf embellishments. The “leaf” balances on wires attached to a cherry burl slice and mounted on a rustic base. A clear case protects this piece.
