The Post family is rooted in the traditions of the Adirondacks, with generations of ancestry from the Champlain Valley and Adirondack mountains of New York. Larry and Joann have had a keen interest in the indigenous arts and furniture of the North Country–both as collectors themselves and artists.
Larry has worked in cabinetmaking for over 30 years. Joann is a fine artist who renders the oil paintings and uses her artistʼs eye to contribute to the designs of L.Post Rustic’s furniture. She also creates faux bois paint techniques and applies bark and twig elements.
Daughter Jillian is the full-time wood carver at L. Post Rustics. She has a degree in Environmental Science/Botany with a minor in art. Her scientific knowledge of plants and nature combined with her natural talent and love for wood carving allows her to produce accurate renderings of natural elements with a twist of romantic liveliness. Son Ryan builds alongside Larry and contributes his own unique design style. Together, our family is a combination of individual talents melded together to make a well-rounded artistic kinship.
Exceptional art furniture is our specialty–always one-of-kind, created with expertise. L. Post Rustics has been juried in to exhibit at the Adirondack Museum (now called Adirondack Experience Museum), where we have been honored to be recipients of numerous awards over the years for our furniture.
